What We Did
In readiness for the arrival of the new fleet of rolling stock in 2020, Merseyrail embarked on a large programme of station upgrades across their network.
The project comprised the full design of the LED lighting upgrade across the stations. The existing discharge and fluorescent luminaires lighting the public and “in use” staff areas of a total of 20 stations were replaced with new LED luminaires on a point for point basis. The areas included platforms, footbridges, underpasses, drop off areas, car parks, cycle stores, waiting shelters, booking halls, ticket offices, stores, offices and WC’s.
Where the required lighting levels could not be achieved using a point for point approach, additional fittings were installed, which in some instances required the new installation or replacement of existing lighting columns.
