What We Did

Located in Worcester and dating back to the early 16th century, Stanbrook Abbey Hotel, which is a former Grade II listed monastery, offers guests a unique retreat with a taste of what life in an abbey was once like.

Davies Partnership are proud to have worked on several projects for the historic hotel over the years. These include the creation of the new restaurant within the old main hall, the refurbishment of meeting and events facilities, the refurbishment of bedrooms to include AC, and the replacement of several kitchens.

The hotel is currently undertaking work for a new spa and a leisure facility which has required close co-ordination with the architect and an ecologist due to an adjacent wildlife habitat home to rare bats. The proposed external designs must not negatively impact the flight path of the bats. Davies Partnership have designed and fully modelled the scheme to provide virtual images of the external lighting and illuminance levels on the building and surrounding landscape for consideration by the ecologist as part of the planning approval requirements.
