Officially handed over to residents in February 2020, The Maples is a mixed extra care and affordable housing scheme comprising of 170 much needed homes in the area of Kirkby, Knowsley. The 170 homes is made up of a block of 100 apartments for those aged 55 and over, as well as 16 supported housing units and 54 new homes offering affordable rent and rent to buy options.
On-site facilities including a Bistro and Salon will encourage The Maples to become a community hub whilst residents can enjoy regular opportunities to socialise and take part in group activities. The scheme delivered for Torus is another designed with quality and care at the forefront of design. We joined Technix, Paddock Johnson and Lane End on the design team and are proud to have been involved in such an important scheme.
Notably, Knowsley Council provided funding to ensure the inclusion of assistive technology which included a door entry and video call system. Such technology allows residents to video call each other as well as care staff when required, and also enables video conferencing with GPs and other external health providers which provides the benefit of ensuring residents can have their health monitored without them even having to leave their home.
